About J. David Cross, D.D.S.

As a lifelong resident of Springfield, Illinois and a periodontist with a family legacy of dentists and surgeons, J. David Cross, D.D.S. embraces the highest health care values and continually strives to provide the highest quality experiences to his community. Dr. Cross has been a practicing periodontist for over thirty years and is one of the few periodontists in the United States trained in microsurgery. All of Dr. Cross’ procedures, from dental implant placement to to connective tissue grafting, benefit from high magnification techniques that reveal more detail and allow him to deliver the highest level of precision to his patients. The enhanced visual details provided by the microscope allows Dr. Cross to maximize the effectiveness of periodontal and surgical treatments and the comfort of patients undergoing those procedures.

The Microscope

Dr. Cross is one of a select few who have committed themselves to microsurgery. The surgical microscope allows him to see details that allow for precise and exact treatment. Having a magnification range of 2 to 26 times that of the naked eye provides critical information for atraumatic and successful treatment. The microscope allows Dr. Cross to treat what others cannot see.
